On April 18 at 7:15 PM, a new work titled Costa by composer Nadia Botello will be premiered along the shoreline of Padre Island National Seashore near the Malaquite Visitor Center. Inspired by the fragile beauty of the coast and the threatened piping plover that nests there, the piece reflects on the delicate relationship between wildlife, landscape, and human presence.

Performed outdoors with the sound of the ocean as its natural accompaniment, the premiere will unfold as the evening light fades, concluding just as the sun sets over the Gulf. Costa invites listeners to experience music and nature together in a moment of reflection on the coastal environment and the species that call it home.
